Americans are seeking legal action after President Biden delivered a shocking vaccine mandate last week that would effect both public and private organizations with over 100 employees. This comes as the Biden administration pressures the CDC to approve his booster plan - another part of his drastic COVID strategy. Churches, businesses and private individuals are already mounting their legal defenses to develop an exemption from the far-reaching mandate. We’re not hearing much from Jen Psaki or the Biden administration, and CBN News Medical Reporter Lorie Johnson says we could be waiting a while to see this mandate come to fruition – if it ever does.

We’re one day away from the 20-year anniversary of September 11, 2001. Many remember what they were doing that day - none of us will ever forget. Twenty years ago, America was shaken to its core. Twenty years ago, our way of life was turned upside down, and everything we thought we knew about safety, changed. Twenty years ago, nearly three thousand brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, daughters, sons, friends, and first responders lost their lives. Twenty years later, we’re taking a look back at what we’ve learned, how we’ve changed, and what we’re doing to maintain our freedom, or lose it. CBN News International Correspondent George Thomas has been with CBN for 25 years, and he was in Paris reporting on Islamic terrorism when the 9/11 attacks occurred. He is on the podcast today to share what he remembers and how the news industry – and the world – has changed.

Exactly 20 years to the day Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana, another monster storm. Hurricane Ida not only pummeled the south, but it also soaked the northeast with record-breaking rain, flash flooding, and tornadoes. At least 46 people are now dead from Maryland to Connecticut. The storm has reporter Charlene Aaron thinking back to the devastation she witnessed covering Katrina from New Orleans. She's on today's CBN News Daily Rundown.

Another big story from this week: Afghan refugees are flooding into cities across the US. Reporter Tara Mergener witnessed some of these arrivals first-hand at Dulles Airport, and she was able to speak with one woman who shared about all that fleeing the Taliban has cost her. Listen in on today's episode.

A pro-life bill that passed in Texas that allows private citizens to sue abortion providers and others who help a woman get an abortion has caused an uproar among abortion supporters. 'American Taliban' trended online today as people compared pro-lifers to the Middle East terrorists who just took control of Afghanistan. Meanwhile, reports from Texas to CBN indicate abortion clinics were still operating at full capacity, with lines out the door.

The last C-17 military aircraft left the Kabul airport this afternoon. As we’re closing in on the August 31st pullout deadline, U.S. veterans and private non-profit groups aren’t giving up. The Pentagon announced Saturday that a targeted, military drone strike killed two high profile Islamic militants, and multiple operations by U.S. veterans are underway to rescue their brothers and sisters. CBN News Senior International Correspondent and International News Director Gary Lane is on today’s podcast to talk about why private, nonprofit civilian efforts are key to continuing evacuation efforts in Afghanistan before the deadline tomorrow.

Abortion advocates aren’t satisfied with their self-proclaimed interest in a woman’s right to choose life or death for her baby. Instead, they demand that everyone embrace abortion as a glamorous norm. A popular women’s magazine called ‘Marie Claire,’ that women usually turn to for fashion and beauty advice, recently called for more depictions of abortion in TV and film. While there’s already an increasing number of abortions portrayed by the film industry, the magazine specifically called for more depictions of abortion by couples rather than single, teen girls. CBN News Reporter Mark Martin recently spoke with pro-life activist and Live Action President Lila Rose about this new push to “normalize” abortion.

The Pfizer vaccine made headlines this morning as the first, COVID-19 vaccine to be approved by the F.D.A. This comes after months of inoculations under the Emergency Use Authorization. Pfizer, along with Moderna and Johnson & Johnson, delivered at least one dose of the vaccine to over half of the United States population. While many public entities and the entire state of New York were already considering mandates, F.D.A. approval opens the door to federal vaccine mandates across the country. Following suit, the Pentagon announced shortly after Pfizer was approved that it will require service members to receive the Pfizer vaccine. CBN News Health Reporter Lorie Johnson is on today’s podcast to talk about what this means for Americans, how mandates may affect the unvaccinated, and an antibody treatment that’s gaining popularity for its use in treating COVID symptoms in their early stages.

Christians in Afghanistan fear complete annihilation at the hands of the Taliban. Some are fleeing into the mountains, even with winter just months away. Others are destroying anything that could identify them as a follower of Christ. But as senior international correspondent George Thomas points out, it's not only Christians who live in fear; the Taliban's charm campaign falling flat on a country that's lived through their rule before. Thomas is on today's CBN News Daily Rundown.

Psalm 121

A song of ascents.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
    where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip—
    he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
    will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you—
    the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
    nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm—
    he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
    both now and forevermore.
