Philanthropy Coordinator

Operation Blessing – Virginia Beach, VA

Operation Blessing (OB) is seeking a highly motivated Philanthropy Coordinator who will coordinate donor care and development activities for the Philanthropy Department with a focus on personal contact that deepens donor relationships and increases annual giving by maximizing connections to the mission, accomplishments, and needs of Operation Blessing.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: 

  • One to three years of experience in a non-profit fundraising environment with working knowledge of fundraising principles and practices
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, producing high quality output in a timely manner
  • Experience in cultivating relationships over the phone with track record of improving revenues through relationship building
  • Strong customer service skills with ability to demonstrate empathy and personal commitment to donor needs and interests
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and other various software
  • Strong ability to compose letters, edit documents, and create spreadsheets with critical attention to detail
  • Ability to interact with the staff and public in a positive and professional manner
  • Ability to deal discreetly and diplomatically with all levels of management
  • Ability to use good judgment and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective member of a team
