SMALL TOWN CHRISTMAS

You will find Megan Alexander reporting daily on the longest-running, top-rated syndicated national news magazine television show, Inside Edition. She also owns a production company, M. Alexander Productions, and is the executive producer and host of the nationally syndicated show, Small Town Christmas (Season 2 just wrapped filming).

This year, Megan did something different by including a Harvest Special filmed in Elijay, Georgia that aired on November 20th. Upcoming episodes will be airing exclusively on UPtv on Sunday’s in December at 9/8c. Megan traveled to the small towns of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, North Pole, Alaska, and Frostburg, Maryland.

“Christmas is the time of year when you can speak about Jesus’s birth and story—and people are more open to listening to it than any other time of year. I love showcasing how all these small towns bring the Christmas story and season alive,” shares Megan.

Small Town Christmas brings the gift of encouragement to warm the heart of America. Through food, drink, music, entertainment, and faith, Megan highlights local businesses and towns that are making Christmas special in their unique way. “I am so excited to celebrate and share the joys and wonders that America’s small towns offer us all this Holiday Season!” says Megan.

CHILDREN'S BOOK

Megan also just releasted her latest children's book, “The Magic of a Small Town Christmas,” which was inspired by the television series. Within the pages, readers journey through the quaint town of Heartbeat Falls. There the magic of Christmas is celebrated by picking the perfect tree and decorating it with glittering ornaments; ice skating and eating gingerbread cookies; and hanging handmade stockings and sharing a homecooked meal.

“Here, the residents know the beauty of a small town doesn’t come from its size, but from the love shared by its people, shining brightly in their eyes,” writes Megan.

FAMILY TRADITIONS

Since she was a little girl, Megan has been a Christmas enthusiast. She explains, “I have been a fan of Christmas since I was a little girl. It started when I was 5 and saw the Nutcracker Ballet and it’s never left me. It’s a time of year when as an adult, you are given permission to be a kid.”

Some of Megan’s family traditions include a “flashlight candy cane hunt” where her three kids invite all their friends, and they search for hidden candy canes all over the backyard at night. Megan also throws a big holiday party each year. She’s always on the lookout for nativity scenes to drive or walk thru. She has fond memories of playing the Angel Gabriel at her church when she was young. Other family traditions include cooking recipes from her Grandma Lorraine’s cookbook, watching Christmas movies together, and making gingerbread houses with her kids. Her family also likes to give back by being a part of an annual coat drive, feeding the homeless, and more.
