Water That Was Undrinkable

Every day 6-year-old RJ and his twin sister Shantal had the job of collecting water just down the hill from their house. But they were troubled by what they saw in the stream.

“There’s garbage and trash.  And I saw people use it as a toilet,” said Shantal.  

“The water doesn’t look clean and it doesn’t taste good either,” added RJ.

But this was their only source of water and the twins often got sick.  

“My stomach was shaking inside, and it hurt! I got scared!” said Shantal.   

“My tummy felt like there were worms moving around inside,” said RJ.

So CBN dug a well for RJ and Shantal and their neighbors.  Now they all have a safe and abundant source of clean water for cooking, bathing and drinking.  

“The water is close to our house and we can even drink straight from the well!” laughed RJ.     

“It tastes sweet,” said is sister. “We are so happy, and we don’t get sick anymore.”

“Thank you CBN for giving us this well!”
