Her name is synonymous with the world of professional wrestling and Linda McMahon is President-elect Donald Trump's pick to head the Small Business Administration.

She and her husband grew the once WWF, now WWE, from a small business to a multinational money-maker. She was president and CEO of the company until she left WWE to run for the United States Senate in 2009. She lost that race and another for Connecticut's second senate seat in 2012. 

McMahon was born in New Bern, N.C. in 1948 to Evenlyn and Henry Edwards. She was an only child. 

She and her husband met as teenagers and dated through high school. Her husband Vince became a "permanent fixture" in the Edwards home sensing stability there. He was raised in a broken home by abusive step-fathers.  

Linda and Vince married shortly after high school, went to They both went to college and have two children. 

They ended up in the wrestling business when Vince started his own sports company called Capitol Wrestling and later bought his father's business best know as the World Wrestling Federation. They grew the businesses into the world-wide conglomerate known now as WWE.
