“There’s a resilience among Israeli’s to be able to withstand this physically, emotionally even spiritually for years. This is a periodic occurrence, especially with the people down south…They have been dealing with thousands, tens of thousands of rockets, over the years since maybe 2005,” said Mideast Bureau Chief Chris Mitchell.

The latest round of attacks from Gaze is in response to the recent Israeli assassination of one of the Islamic Jihad senior officials. They're calling it, “an act of war,” but as Mitchell and Mideast correspondent Julie Stahl point out on today's CBN News Daily Rundown—it will likely only turn into war if Hamas and ultimately Iran join the fight—or if Israeli lives are lost.

Wednesday Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be in Washington to meet with President Trump at the White House.

The meeting comes one month after Erdogan launched "Operation Peace Spring," his military offensive into northern Syria.

Now, 300,000 plus people are on the run, including Christians from ancient villages in the region.

"This is a humanitarian disaster," says CBN News Senior International Correspondent George Thomas.

He's just returned from Syria and thinks the situation there will only get worse.

"If you thought the last month was bad, strap in," he says.

Democrats are celebrating their clean sweep in Virginia's election Tuesday.

For the first time in more than a decade, Democrats have won control of both chambers in Virginia's statehouse.

Virginia's elections, along with both legislative and gubernatorial races in other states were watched closely by President Trump and the vast field of Democrats working to unseat him to see what they may predict for the presidential race next year.

CBN News Chief International Correspondent and longtime political observer Gary Lane joins us on the CBN News Daily Rundown to break down what this new legislative configuration means in Virginia and offer his read of the tea leaves for 2020.

"If you just look at the numbers on the electoral college, right now it looks like [Trump's] gonna do better than he did last time," Lane says.

"I think what people need to understand that what's called "Operation Peace Spring" by Turkey's Erdogan is not peace at all," says CBN News Middle East Bureau Chief Chris Mitchell.

Instead, he says, Christians living in ancient villages are being targeted by jihadist forces employed by Turkey's military.

After one recent battle, jihadist fighters told Christians they had been ordered not to kill them, but instead took their lands.

"It's sort of like soft ethnic cleansing. When you lose your lands you lose your livelihood. You really have no place to go and no way to support yourself," says Chris.

In today’s society there is much being done to protect the gay and transgender community and to make sure it has equal rights.  In the process, however,  a growing minority may be getting slighted, even to the point of having their very existence denied.

That minority is those who have come out of the LGBTQ lifestyle and now want to make sure others can choose to do the same.  Legislation on Capitol Hill is threatening to do away therapy that that has helped many make this life change.   In the Rundown, Paul Strand talks about why this group’s fight for acceptance is an uphill battle.
