European politicians are jockeying to become the next leader of the European Union. UK voters weren't supposed to participate in this election, but due to several delays in leaving the EU, UK voters had to take part. In the highest turnout in 20 years, right-wing parties in France, Italy, and Hungary gained a majority of seats. But the UK's Brexit party--formed only six weeks ago--is now the largest political party in Europe. Tensions between Democratic leadership and President Trump reached a boiling point Wednesday when Trump abruptly walked out of a meeting scheduled to discuss infrastructure. His exit came after remarks from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who accused him of being involved in a cover-up since he won't cooperate with congressional investigations. The spread of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo is now the second-largest outbreak ever recorded. More than 11,000 people are dead according to the World Health Organization, but aid groups estimate the death toll is much higher. Efforts to combat the epidemic have been slowed down and even stalled because of attacks on treatment centers and on health workers. Over the weekend, the Jerusalem studio of Daystar, one of the largest Christian networks in the world, was firebombed. Police are investigating the attack but so far don't have a suspect. CBN videographer Jonathan Goff is based out of our bureau in Jerusalem and he went to what's left of the Daystar facilities Monday morning to cover the attack. Democrats are pushing for the 1964 Civil Rights Act to be amended. That law bans discrimination based on race, color, sex, or national origin. In what's being called the Equality Act of 2019, House Democrats are pushing for discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity to be banned as well.
