They thought it was worth paying that price to defend their towns, their families, and their livelihoods, and many did pay the ultimate price." 

In 2014, as the Islamic State swept through Northern Syria carrying out a campaign of terror, a group of Kurdish female fighters armed themselves with AK-47's and a lot of courage to defend what they held dear--their families and their homes.

Thousands of migrants seeking their way to America are embarking on a deadly journey through hellish jungle terrain in part because they've been "lied to" about the safety of the trek, according to CBN's Chuck Holton, who is on the ground in Colombia. Smugglers are telling hopeful migrants the journey isn't that bad, only to lead them on a week long journey in which most are "robbed, raped or even killed" by bandits throughout the trail.

The United Nations Security Council is set to examine a political crisis in Myanmar today.

 Demonstrators have regularly flooded the streets of cities across the country since the military seized power and ousted elected governmental leaders in February.

 The protests have been deadly and Wednesday was the bloodiest day as security forces opened fire on crowds of people, killing at least 38.

 A U.S. ambassador to the UN said the international community needs to "ramp up the pressure" on Myanmar's military, which is largely supported by Chinese leaders.

 CBN News Senior International Correspondent Gary Lane is on today's episode to share how China is playing a big role in this coup.

Congressional Democrats are moving forward on an election reform bill that would move more control from states to the federal government. The so-called "For the People Act" would mandate early voting and outlaw voter ID requirements. On Wednesday, House Democrats passed the bill, which now heads to the Senate. Republicans agree election reform is needed, but they say H.R.1 isn't the answer. Washington correspondent Jenna Browder has been looking into this bill. She's on today's CBN News Daily Rundown.
