CBN.comDrugstore giant CVS plans to stop selling tobacco products, like cigarettes, this year.
By Oct. 1, the more than 7,000 locations will stop carrying the products.
The drugstore chain says they want to promote wellness, explaining that tobacco is "inconsistent with their purpose."
President Barack Obama praised the decision, saying it sets a "powerful example."
The move could cost CVS up to $2 billion in annual revenue. The company is the first national pharmacy to stop selling tobacco.
