Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country fully supports President Barack Obama's call for united action against the self-proclaimed Islamic State, or ISIS.
Netanyahu gave an annual address at the International Conference on Counter-Terrorism on the anniversary of 9/11.
He called groups like Hamas, ISIS, Boko Haram and Hezbollah "branches of the same poisonous tree."
"All present a clear and present danger to the peace and security of the world and to our common civilization," Netanyahu said.
"I believe that the battle against these groups is indivisible and it's important not to let any of these groups succeed anywhere. Because if they gain ground somewhere, they gain ground everywhere. And their setbacks are also felt everywhere," he said.
Israel's leader said all civilized countries should stand together to fight against radical terrorism.
Netanyahu's comments comparing ISIS to Hamas come on the heels of Israel's summer war against Hamas terrorists who were firing hundreds of rockets and digging terrorist tunnels from Gaza into Israel.
The Sunni terrorist group ISIS captured world attention after sweeping into Iraq and then beheading two American journalists.
ISIS has seized roughly a third of Iraq and Syria, declaring a self-styled caliphate where they apply brutal Islamic Shariah law.
The Islamic group Boko Haram has also declared a caliphate in the parts of Nigeria under their control.
