CBN.comJERUSALEM, Israel -- Four Israel Defense Forces soldiers patrolling near the border with Syria were injured Tuesday, one severely, by a roadside bomb planted near the security fence.
The soldiers were airlifted to Haifa's Rambam Hospital for treatment.
The attack occurred near the border town of Majdal a-Shams in the Golan Heights.
The IDF returned fire toward Syrian military positions, identifying direct hits, but there were no reports of injuries from the Syrian side.
Last Friday, Hezbollah terrorists targeted an IDF patrol unit, detonating a roadside bomb that scored a direct hit on one vehicle without injuring any soldiers.
The IDF retaliated with tank fire on a Hezbollah terror site in a village close to the border.
Two weeks ago, on March 5, two terrorists affiliated with Hezbollah attempted to plant a bomb near the border with Syria in the Golan. The terrorists fled when soldiers opened fire toward them.
