Taiwan's president arrived in the United States this week as part of a multi-day tour that's already angered China. Chinese government officials say they're closely watching what happens as the Taiwanese president looks to thank allies in the West.

The CEO of TikTok is facing a bipartisan grilling in Congress today. The popular app is owned by a Chinese company. That has Congress concerned that the user data of roughly 150-million Americans could wind up in the hands of the communist Chinese regime.


The tiny island of Taiwan is in Beijing's crosshairs with increasing signs of a possible Chinese invasion. The head of U.S. Naval Intelligence warns the communist regime is preparing for a real war against the U.S., and the U.S. is now deploying additional troops to Taiwan.

The U.S. military says a Russian warplane struck the propeller of a U.S. drone over the Black Sea on Tuesday, causing American forces to bring the unmanned aircraft down in international waters. The U.S. European Command says two Russian Su-27 fighter jets “conducted an unsafe and unprofessional intercept” of the MQ-9 drone in international airspace over the Black Sea. The State Department calls it a “brazen violation of international law.”  Moscow says  Russian fighter jets scrambled to intercept it near Crimea, but insists its warplanes didn’t fire their weapons or hit the drone.


According to the Pentagon, China is adding to its nuclear arsenal at a rate that could surpass the U.S. by the end of the decade.

Top officials from the U.S. intelligence community appeared before the Senate Intelligence Committee Wednesday to testify on the top global security threats facing the United States right now.  


In its first public hearing, lawmakers on the newly formed Select Committee on China pointed out rising threats from the communist regime: issues like trade, Taiwan, and TikTok.

The United States has stepped up its China crackdown, this time with a directive from the White House banning the app TikTok on all federal phones.
