GOP House challenger Glo Smith was recently the target of racist vandalism when an 8 by 4 foot billboard with her picture on it was plastered with whiteface paint.
Smith is an African-American woman running in the GOP primary against Rep. Corrine Brown in an overwhelmingly Democratic district.
Smith told the National Review Online she became aware of the racist defacement Tuesday.
The attack follows a string of bias incidents against Black Republicans. Someone vandalized the Florida Republican congressional candidate's campaign billboard last week.
Smith said she has also had a number of signs stolen, but she did not expect this kind of attack.
"We expect signs to be tampered with or stolen but not to this extent," she said.
Still, she said she forgives whoever is responsible.
