Pastors across Virginia spoke out against health care legislation being worked out on Capitol Hill, Thursday, urging their congressmen to vote against the bill.
The leaders met for a news conference in Virginia Beach as part of a multi-denominational effort to stop the bill-- which now includes a government-run option for health care-- from becoming law.
One of their biggest concerns, however, is the bill's provision for taxpayer-funded abortions.
"We as Americans may disagree about whether abortion is right or wrong. I believe that it's absolutely wrong," said Bishop E.W. Jackson, Sr. "But overwhelming numbers of Americans agree that taxpayers should not be paying for abortions. That's a private matter."
"People can pay for it privately, and so we think this really violates the will of the American people, and we believe obviously, that it violates the will of God," he added.

The pastors also voiced concern about the high cost of the health care bill, saying it will be a horrendous burden to future generations.
