Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal plans to file a lawsuit against the Obama administration Wednesday over Common Core education.
Jindal is accusing them of illegally using federal grant money to force states to adopt the standards.
"The federal government has hijacked and destroyed the Common Core initiative. Common Core is the latest effort by big government disciples to strip away state rights and put Washington, D.C., in control of everything," Jindal said in a statement.
The U.S. Department of Education has used $4.3 billion in programs and policy waivers to get states to adopt Common Core.
More than 40 states have adopted the standards.
The Republican governor is considering running for president in 2016.
