In light of the FBI's warning to members of the U.S. military about a potential ISIS threat on U.S. soil, Imam Talib Shareef, of the Nation's Mosque in Washington D.C., condemned ISIS saying he views "the whole group as criminals."

A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Shareef said he supports any government warning to protect people from the actions of ISIS on U.S. soil and abroad.

He and other Muslim leaders have publicly condemned the actions of the terrorist organization, saying "they're not seen as Muslims by the majority of the Muslim world."

Shareef also talked to CBN News about the controversial Muslim prayer event at the National Cathedral last month.

As one of the co-sponsors, he said the event was an interfaith effort to set an example for other nations and mosques to follow.

However, there is a lot of skepticism about whether those interfaith efforts are a two-way street, and whether Muslims would be willing to host a Christian-led prayer at a mosque.

Shareef said there is a precedent in the teachings of Islam where the Prophet Muhammad invites Christians to pray at a mosque. In continuing his inter-faith efforts, Shareef said he would be willing to host a Christian-led prayer at the Nation's Mosque in Washington D.C.
