Two dozen overlooked Army veterans are finally receiving recognition for their heroic service during World War II, Korea and Vietnam.

Congress recently identified past service members of Jewish or Hispanic heritage who were denied honors due to discrimination.

President Barack Obama gave the highest military award, the Medal of Honor, to the deserving veterans in a ceremony at the White House Tuesday.

Of the 24 service members, only three are still alive today. The family members of the 21 others received the medal on their behalf.
