Houston is preparing for more flooding as Tropical Storm Bill bears down from the Gulf of Mexico.

Some parts of Houston are already under water from the last round of bad weather.

"Tropical Storm Bill will send a surge of moisture northward into Southern Plains," The Weather Channel meteorologist Chris Dolce said.

"This includes parts of Texas, where soils remain saturated from May's record-breaking rainfall," he added.

"Any additional heavy rainfall will likely to contribute to a renewed flood potential, including cities such as Houston, Dallas, and Austin," he warned.

Road crews are out in force to prevent the disastrous flooding seen over Memorial Day. They're clearing drains, checking pumps, and barricading trouble spots to keep drivers from getting trapped.

Residents are making preparations, too. Some say they'll leave work early, while others plan to just stay home.
