A conservative Presbyterian leader is blasting the Presbyterian Church USA denomination for accepting gay marriage last week.
Since they authorized gay ordination in 2011, at least 428 churches have dissolved or left the PC USA for more conservative denominations.
Carmen Fowler Laberge, president of the conservative Presbyterian Lay Committee, called the new definition of marriage a repudiation of the Bible, saying it approves "what God does not bless."
She said members should protest by redirecting donations away from the national church.
The PC USA denomination has nearly 1.8 million members and about 10,000 congregations, making it the largest Protestant group to authorize gay weddings churchwide.
