If families want to enjoy a movie together this weekend, "Hot Pursuit" and "Noble" aren't the best choice.
"Hot Pursuit," starring Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara, is about a straight-laced cop (Witherspoon) who has to protect the spirited widow (Vergara) of a drug boss from dirty cops and criminals as they race through Texas.
"The problem with this film is that there are a lot of jokes at the expense of putting people down," said Bob Waliszewski, director of Focus on the Family's entertainment review department, Plugged In Online.
"Noble" is based on a true story of Christina Noble, an Irish children's rights campaigner who has helped more than 700,000 children and their families in Vietnam and Mongolia.
However, there are some sexually explicit scenes in the film.
"The movie obviously includes some bad content. And the fact that most of it is pulled straight from Christina's own real-life experiences doesn't lessen its negative impact," movie reviewer Paul Asay wrote.
