The jury in the Boston Marathon bombing trial begins deliberating Wednesday on the fate of bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

Tsarnaev's attorneys say the 19-year-old should get life in prison, arguing he was led astray by his radicalized older brother, Tamerlan.

They've admitted he participated in the bombings, but told the jury he was "a good kid" who was led down the path to terrorism by Tamerlan, who wanted to punish the United States for its actions in Muslim countries.

Prosecutors contend Dzhokhar is a callous, unrepentant terrorist who helped plan and carry out the vicious attack. They say his actions merit the death penalty.

Three people were killed and more than 260 were injured when the Tsarnaev brothers detonated two bombs near the marathon's finish line on April 15, 2013.

Dzhokhar, 21, was convicted by a federal jury last month of all 30 counts against him, including use of a weapon of mass destruction. The same jury must now decide his punishment.
