Royals Bring Home World Series Win

11-02-2015

They waited a year for it, but after just barely losing the World Series last season, the Kansas City Royals are now the champions of baseball.

The team won the World Series four games to one over the New York Mets with a comeback game that went 12 innings Sunday night in New York.

"Last year was such a hard defeat for us in game seven and everybody came to spring training as determined of a group as I have ever seen," Royals manager Ned Yost said. "They were going to get back and finish it. From day one there was not doubt in my mind that they wouldn't accomplish it there was no doubt in there mind that they would accomplish it."

"In 2015, Kansas City is No. 1," Royals catcher and World Series most valuable player Salvador Perez said. "Who cares about what happened last year?"

It was the Royals first World Series title in 30 years, and their second championship in team history.
