In Washington, D.C., all eyes are on Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins once again as the surprise success story faces a big contract negotiation.
But Cousins, who is a Christian, says he's not chasing money but rather is trusting God to guide his decision.
"Right now my wife and I are just trying to come before the Lord and say, 'Lord, what do You have for us?'" he said.
He said considers Proverbs 3:5-6 his life verse. He recently shared the verse with the Washington Post.
"Don't lean on your understanding, but acknowledge Him, and He will direct your steps," he quoted.
After going from back-up to starting quarterback and leading his team to the an NFC East Championship, his teammates are campaigning for Cousins to stick around in Washington.
Cousins attributes his success and leadership with the team to his relationship with Christ.
While it's tempting to go after the money, Cousins and his wife are focused on God's mission for him, wherever he goes.
And no matter where he plays next season, his greatest purpose is to share the Gospel message.
