The Department of Justice has granted immunity from prosecution to the staffer who set up Hillary Clinton's email server.
The Washington Post reports the FBI is ready to wrap up its investigation of the mishandling of classified and top secret emails.
The Post reports former Clinton 2008 campaign worker Bryan Pagliano is now cooperating with officials.
A government official has said "there was wrongdoing," but the FBI is trying to determine if it was "criminal" wrongdoing.
Last month, a U.S. District Court Judge ruled Clinton's top aides can be questioned under oath by a legal watchdog group, about whether the former secretary of state deliberately sought to thwart open records laws by using a private email server.
And Charles McCullough, an inspector general for the intelligence community, also revealed a disturbing new discovery about Clinton's email scandal last month.
McCullough informed Congress that dozens of additional emails with classified information had been uncovered on Clinton's private email server.
And he said some of those emails included information beyond the "Top Secret" classification.
The emails included material about "Special Access Programs," classified above "Top Secret." SAP programs are highly sensitive in part because they could reveal intelligence sources.
GOP frontrunner Donald Trump recently told CBN News that if retired general and former CIA Director David Petraeus could be pushed out over concerns about his handling of classified materials, then Clinton should be investigated too.
