'She's in Heaven,' Joey Feek's Husband Rory Tells Fans

03-04-2016

Joey Feek, popular country/gospel singer, has died after a long battle with terminal cancer. Her husband, Rory, confirmed her death Friday telling fans on his blog, "My wife's greatest dream came true today. She is in Heaven."

He said she died around 2:30 p.m. Friday with her loved ones surrounding her.

"My precious bride breathed her last. And a moment later took her first breath on the other side," Feek wrote in his blog, This Life I Live.

"When a person has been through as much pain and struggle as Joey's been through, you just want it to be over. You want them to not have to hurt anymore, more that you want them to stay with you. And so, it makes the hard job of saying goodbye just a little easier," Feek wrote.

He told followers that he will be moving back to Tennessee with their daughters - after spending the last several months in Indiana. He said that although it is hard to think about going home without Joey, he knows that's where she'd want them to be.
