Watch Thousands of People Sing ‘Amazing Grace’ in Stunning Impromptu Prayer Breakfast Performance

The thousands of participants who attended Thursday morning’s National Prayer Breakfast represented more than 100 countries and all 50 states — which is what made it so powerful to see the diverse room join together to sing “Amazing Grace.”

The mass a cappella performance started when Mercy Me lead singer Bart Millard implored the audience to join him in belting out the popular hymn.

“I think there’s power when the body of Christ lifts up the name of Jesus,” Millard said. “To see a room of people like this, just to hear you sing would be amazing.”

He then quipped, “If you don’t know the words of this song, you probably need to go to church more.”
