Gay couples in Chicago will be able to marry sooner than thought.
A federal judge ruled Friday that same-sex couples don't have to wait until June to wed. A state law approving gay marriage is set to take effect that month.
The decision applies only to couples in Cook County, where Chicago is located.
Within an hour of Friday's ruling, gay couples began lining up for marriage licenses.
