Though reportedly spotty, the Internet is back up in North Korea after an attack took down the country's Internet for more than nine hours Monday.

Widespread outages crippled online access for the privileged few permitted to use the Internet in the communist regime, including high ranking party officials, media workers, and government hackers and researchers.

The U.S. government did not claim responsibility for the attack, though it does blame North Korea for the costly and embarrassing hacking of Sony Pictures.

It all started over a comedy about an attempt to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong Un called "The Interview," starring actors Seth Rogan and James Franco.

Sony says the movie will be released online.
