A Thai satellite spotted about 300 objects, some as long 52 feet.
However, bad weather hampered search efforts in the air and on the water Thursday.
Planes and ships headed to the area in the southern Indian Ocean turned back because of heavy rains, strong winds, and reduced visibility.
For the last week, planes have been looking without any success for objects spotted by satellites.
Malaysian authorities said an analysis of the final known satellite signals from the plane shows it went down in the Indian Ocean.
