Nigerian Leader Vows to Bring Home Kidnapped Girls

Nigeria's President Jonathan Goodluck is vowing to do whatever it takes to bring home the nearly 300 girls kidnapped by Boko Haram more than a month ago.

The president says the radical Islamic group is waging war on his country but the security of his nation is not negotiable.

"I have instructed our security forces to launch a full scale operation to put an end to the impunity of terrorists on our soil. I have also authorized the security forces to use any means necessary under the law to ensure that this is done," he said.

"I assure you that Nigeria will be safe again and that these thugs will be driven away," he added.

Boko Haram began its deadly rampage in Nigeria five years ago. This year alone, more than 2,000 deaths are blamed on the group.
