An independent government watchdog panel is highlighting some of the world's worst violators of religious freedoms in its 15th annual report.

The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom warns that religious minorities are increasingly under attack in Egypt, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Syria, Vietnam, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.

"Our government's focus on religious freedom has to some extent been lost. That's why we're putting so much emphasis on the need for the nation to refocus on this human right, and we need our leaders to keep that focus constant," USCIRF chair Robert P. George said.

What can the United States do to help curb the violence? Commission Vice Chair Katrina Lantos Swett talks about this and more, on Christian World News, May 2.
