Former Haitian dictator Jean-Claude Duvalier has died. His attorney says the 63-year-old known as "Baby Doc" died of a heart attack Saturday at a private residence in Port-au-Prince where he had been staying.
Duvalier's corrupt and brutal regime sparked an uprising in 1986 that sent the self-proclaimed "president for life" into a 25-year exile. He made a surprise return to Haiti in 2011 and spent his last years in relative obscurity in the leafy hills above the Haitian capital.
He was the son of another dictator, Francois "Papa Doc" Duvalier, who died in 1971.
