At least 68 people are dead after Boko Haram terrorists went on a killing rampage in a village in northeastern Nigeria.
Fleeing residents of Baanu village say the terror group showed up on Friday night.
"We returned to the village in the morning after spending the night in the Bush," The Guardian (ITALICS) quoted farmer Mustapha Alibe. "We saw corpses in the streets of the village."
Nigerian officials say the terrorists are trying to extend their reach after government troops drove them out of 25 towns and villages they'd held for months, declaring the area an Islamic caliphate.
Over the past six years, Boko Haram has killed nearly 20,000 people.
