Islamic State terrorists have destroyed the Baalshamin Temple at Syria's ancient ruins of Palmyra.
The news comes after the extremists beheaded scholar Khaled al-Asaad last Tuesday.
There are conflicting reports about the timing of the explosion. Some say the blast happened Sunday. But the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the temple was actually blown up a month ago.
The blast also damaged some of Palmyra's famed columns.
