China Deploys Ebola Relief Team to West Africa

China is sending 232 of its army medical workers to West Africa in its growing fight against Ebola.

Although the Asian country has not seen any reported Ebola cases, it has already spent more than $121 million in cash and supplies to the fight the disease abroad.

In this latest round of staffing, 154 workers are headed to Liberia and 78 to Sierra Leone. They are joining the 78 workers from the Chinese Center for Disease Control already in place in West Africa.

Since the outbreak began, the World Health Organization has recorded more than 13,000 Ebola cases in eight affected countries and more than 5,000 deaths.
