'Army of God' Kills Dozens aboard Pakistan Bus

05-13-2015

Pakistan was hit with another attack on religious minorities Wednesday, with gunmen killing more than 40 people in the southern port city of Karachi.

The victims were aboard a bus bound for a community center for Ismaili Shiite Muslims. A security guard at a nearby building said he heard the gunshots and saw the terrorists driving away.

A faction of the Pakistani Taliban called The Army of God claimed responsibility for the attack.

"They were innocent people. We feel very sorry for this ghastly act," Qaim Ali Shah, chief minister of Sindh province, said.

Pakistan's prime minister condemned the bus attack, calling it "an attempt to create chaos."

This is the deadliest incident in Pakistan since December, when Taliban jihaditsts killed 150 people at an army-run school in Peshawar.
