A former feminist pro-choice leader has had a change of heart and is apologizing for her actions.
Sara Fernanda Giromin founded the radical feminist movement Femen Brazil in 2012. Members of the group are known to protest abortion rights while topless.
Christian Today reports that Giromin, who also goes by the name Sara Winter, has repented for her past stance on abortion and is now pro-life.
Giromin's turnaround allegedly came after she gave birth to her son in October of 2015.
She reportedly aborted her first child but decided to have her second baby, a decision that changed her perspectrive on radical feminism and abortion.
She now says abortion "promotes the destruction of the traditional family and all moral values of society."
She is now asking Christians to forgive her.
"Asking for forgiveness is certainly not an easy thing to do. We went way too far and ended up offending many religious and non-religious people. I feel extremely happy and welcome. I never imagined that religious people take 'forgiveness' seriously. This is a learning experience for all who criticize Christians."
"I thank all the Christians who have supported me and given me space to spread my new visions. God bless. I ask Christians for forgiveness," she continued.
Today Giromin encourges women everywhere to consider the ramifications of abortion.
"Yesterday marked one month after the birth of my baby and my life has taken on a new meaning. I'm writing this while he sleeps serenely on my lap. It is the greatest sensation in the world. Please, women who are desperate to abort, think carefully about it. I was very sorry I did it. I don't want the same for you," she wrote.
