Islamic State fighters tortured and abused Kurdish children after taking them prisoner earlier this year, Human Rights Watch reported.
HRW based its conclusions on interviews with several of the boys, who said the jihadists beat them with hoses and electric cables.
ISIS captured 150 boys, most between the ages of 14 and 16, as they made their way home from school after exams in Aleppo. An estimated 50 of the boys escaped early on while the rest were released later.
According to the report, some of the worst abuse was meted out to family members of the Kurdish militia who are fighting against ISIS terrorists.
Meanwhile, the Syrian town of Kobani is being seen as a testing ground for the U.S.-led coalition's ability to stop the Islamic State's advance in Syria.
Late Friday, about 150 Peshmerga, Iraqi Kurdish fighters, crossed into Kobani to support Syrian Kurdish forces there. Turkey reportedly supplied the Peshmerga fighters with arms and ammunition.
The U.S.-led airstrikes have not significantly impacted ISIS's ability to inflict heavy losses on the fighters defending Kobani.
