Boko Haram Hostages Killed in Rescue Attempt

03-10-2012

I recently received word that two hostages held by the notorious Nigerian Islamic terror group, Boko Haram were killed in a daring UK rescue attempt.

According to the Nigerian Tribune, British Special Forces attempted to rescue Briton Chris McManus and Italian Franco Lamolinara from their captors at a secret location in Kebbi, Nigeria. The rescue team included eight members of the United Kingdom's Special Boat Services and as many as 12 Royal Marine commandos.

Both McManus and Lamolinara were killed by BH terrorists during the raid.

Boko Haram has threatened more violence and attacks in the coming days as it plots to cleanse northern Nigeria of Christians.

Now that these two Europeans have died at the hands of this militant Islamist group, Western leaders are taking a closer look at the growing threat Boko Haram poses to Nigeria and the entire West African region.

Read more on this story and British Prime Minister David Cameron's response in this Nigerian Tribune article.
