Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei Praises Occupy Wall Street Movement

08-30-2012

In the course of studying radical movements intensively over the past decade-plus, I've come to realize that most of them--whether it's Islamism, Naziism, Soviet Communism, anarchism or black separatism (Farrakhan's Nation of Islam, the New Black Panthers, etc.)--invariably have four things in common:

1) They hate America and the U.S. Constitution.

2) They hate Israel and in many cases, extend that hatred to the Jewish people as a whole.

3) They despise capitalism.

4) They abhor Bible-believing Christians and Judeo-Christian values.

These shared beliefs have often times led these seemingly divergent movements to work together towards their common goal of weakening Judeo-Christian, Western civilization, and the capitalist system--witness hardcore Islamists and radical leftists marching arm-in-arm at various anti-war and pro-Palestinian protests over the past decade. I've written and reported on these unholy and seemingly unlikely alliances at length.

That's why today's news of Iran's Supreme Leader praising the Occupy movement at the poisonous "Non-Aligned" gathering in Tehran comes as no surprise. In fact I wrote about Iran and other assorted Islamists supporting Occupy as far back as October 2011. Back then, I wrote:

The Iranian regime is clearly relishing the Occupy Wall Street movement (see here and here) because OWS is largely anarchic, anti-capitalist, and anti-American. The Iranians support any movement which weakens the social fabric of America and sows division and disunity.

OWS certainly does that: look no further than the disturbing eat-the-rich rhetoric, violence, anti-Semitism and even sexual assaults at OWS rallies. The more chaotic the cultural, political, and economic landscape in the U.S., the easier pickings we are for the Iranians, in the mullahs' view. Remember: we are the Great Satan and the mullahs' ultimate target. What's bad for us is good for them.

So the Iranians--and Islamists of all stripes, really--will gladly piggyback off the Occupy Wall Street movement because, like the Islamists, it seeks to destroy America as we know it—and by extension, Judeo-Christian, Western civilization.

And even though the Occupy movement has died down, big-time, in the U.S., the Iranian regime still carries a torch for it. Here's more, from The Blaze:

“The 99-percent movement of the American people against the centers of wealth and power in America and the widespread protests of the people in Western Europe against the economic policies of their governments show that the people are losing their patience with this situation,” Khamenei was quoted as saying by the Fars News Agency. “Torture and assassination are permissible and completely ignored if they are carried out by America, the Zionists and their puppets”

He also said that the current dynamic is a “faulty international structure” and that “it is necessary to remedy this irrational situation.” These comments were made at the 16th Non-Aligned Movement Summit (NAM) in Tehran, Iran, an event that spans from August 16 through August 31.

Read it all. The "Non-Aligned Movement," by the way, is an increasingly influential rogue's gallery of Islamists and leftists and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave it a much-deserved hammering today.
