The Bible tells us children are God's best gift. That's true, however, for many couples, realizing the dream of having a child is a long journey.

CBN News Washington Bureau Chief Dana Ritter has traveled that road which ended in the adoption of her son, “Sometimes it feels like this story is made up but it’s actually true and real and we get to live it,” she says.

Dana explains what it was like to walk into a hospital room to finally meet her baby, “I felt like I was watching a movie, it didn’t feel real that it was happening. I felt like I was watching someone else," she says.

In the midst of her happiness, she explains why she also felt profound grief, "In the midst of feeling so much joy and unbelief that this was really happening to me, looking back at that door that I had just walked into and realizing that she [her son's birth mom] had to walk out of that door without him and the only way that I get to be a mom, his mom, is that she doesn’t get to," she recalls through tears.

Today on the CBN News Daily Rundown Dana walks us through her journey to adoption.

In every city there are people living on the streets for a variety of reasons: mental health issues, hard times, and addiction are a few. However, in the City of Angels, homelessness has become an epidemic. On any giving night in LA, there are nearly 60,000 people living on the streets which has lead to a multitude of problems.

CBN's Ben Kennedy was just there. He saw first hand the seemingly endless tent town known as "Skid Row," he smelled the sanitation problems and observed gangs taking advantage of some of the nation's most vulnerable.

He also met amazing people literally risking their lives to help those in need.

Ben's reporting on LA's Skid Row today on the CBN News Daily Rundown.

Israel granted the request of Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) to visit her elderly grandmother who lives in the West Bank, but the congresswoman changed her mind and decided not to visit her family.

The Israeli government asked her not to promote the boycott of the Jewish State during her visit. Honoring that request she said would "kill a piece of her."

"And that leaves a big question mark, doesn't it? That question mark being was the main objective to go visit grandma or was the main objective to go and be able to promote your ideology, beliefs there in the Israeli state," says CBN News National Security Correspondent Eric Philips.

Eric weighs in on this story, explains how bulletproof backpacks work, and gives us a preview of what we can expect in Hong Kong this weekend today on the CBN News Daily Rundown.
