JERUSALEM, Israel -- Israeli Defense Ministry security forces at the Kerem Shalom Crossing intercepted another attempted shipment meant to bolster the terror infrastructure in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip on Monday.
According to media reports, Iran is financing efforts to rebuild the terror tunnels destroyed during Operation Protective Edge last summer.
The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) and the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories uncovered the contraband, which included infrared and remote control cameras, remote controls, and radio and other communication devices.
"The items were hidden in an Israeli truck that was carrying communications equipment to the Gaza Strip," a Defense Ministry statement read.
Monday's interception is the second in the past week. Israeli security forces have thwarted more than 100 attempts to smuggle equipment and material to Hamas and other Islamic terror groups in Gaza.
