JERUSALEM, Israel – Israeli authorities at the Erez Crossing with the Gaza Strip, in cooperation with the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), and the Israel Police thwarted a number of attempts to smuggle weapons into the coastal enclave.
The task force also included the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), Customs, and the Defense Ministry's Israeli Crossing Points Authority, Israel Defense reported.
According to the report, the latest attempts used postal services to smuggle dismantled drone parts to Hamas, the Palestinian faction ruling Gaza for nearly a decade.
On Monday morning, authorities confiscated 10 drone motors, Gyros, transceivers, rifle sights and other paraphernalia.
