A near hysterical woman is heard lambasting the Egyptian military for supposedly killing peaceful Brotherhood protesters, while the Al Jazeera crew videotapes a man who appears to be either unconscious or dead — a supposed victim of the military.

When Jessica and Raja Paulraj were first married, they found themselves working at a Christian missionary hospital in a predominantly Muslim section of India. Raja was a doctor at the hospital and Jessica was a nurse. The center of their lives, the center of their marriage is Jesus.

One day a young mother from a Muslim family gave birth to a little boy in the hospital where Jessica and Raja worked. The child had a healthy heart, healthy lungs, and a healthy brain. But he was horribly deformed. He had no nose, no eyelids (imagine that!) no hands and his legs were fused together.

According to a report titled “Sisi to Pentagon: We will not turn back, sovereignty is a red line,” published in Watan newspaper (Saturday, Aug. 17 edition), Egyptian Maj. Gen. Muhammad al-’Assar has just issued a strongly worded letter to the Pentagon, on behalf of the Egyptian military council, saying, among other things, “We will not retreat from fighting terrorism; the military does not run, for the [Egyptian] republic has leadership, and our message is clear: we will not allow red lines to be crossed.”

This week, the Department of Health and Human Services announced that it gave out $67 million to 105 Navigator grant applicants. (The United Way of Tarrant County, Texas, received the largest anticipated sum of $5.8 million; the University of Southern Florida received the second largest: $4.2 million, while most others received smaller grants between $100,000-$400,000.)
