Exclusive: Rick Santorum's Movie Company Set to Debut New Faith-Based Film
In an interview you will only see on The Brody File, EchoLight Studios CEO Rick Santorum discusses the company’s new movie project called, "Seasons of Gray- The Modern Day Story of Joseph."
“The message (of the film) is that you’ll get through this. As difficult and all the challenges that Joseph had and this modern-day Joseph has that God loves you first and that he’s going to be with you.”
The former presidential candidate tells CBN News he wants to start a movement in this country aimed at changing the culture. But this cause is centered on altering the movie industry. Santorum is president of the Christian-based EchoLight Studios.
“God is alive and active in so many people’s lives. We have so many stories to tell!” Santorum tells The Brody File.
This new movie is being released next month and was done entirely by Watermark Community Church in Dallas. But he says don’t worry: this is solid, high quality work. He believes compelling movies made by churches are vital in changing our culture.
“I think it was Aristotle who said, ‘give me the storytellers and I will control the country in a generation.’ Well, who tells the stories? One hundred years ago it was the church, it was the family, it was the neighborhood, the library. Today it’s Hollywood,” Santorum says.
Santorum says millions of donor dollars are coming in from those willing to engage in this culture fight. But a vital part of this comes from church members. EchoLight has come up with a way for Christians to set up movie screenings in their hometown movie theaters to spread the word.
“It’s a great opportunity for people to take the bull by the horns. We give you the good quality product. You then go out and can evangelize in your own community, bring people in,” says Santorum.
