Jerry is 40 years old and has a history of changing jobs often. He is easily bored. Jerry’s wife is frustrated with all the home projects Jerry starts and never finishes. He seems easily distracted. A trip to the doctor landed Jerry a referral to a psychologist for an ADHD evaluation. When Jerry received the diagnosis, it all made sense. As a child, he struggled in school despite being very bright.
No one knows for sure, but plenty of ink has been burned on whether Rep. Nancy Pelosi will reprise her role as Democratic leader in the next Congress.
The 13-term congresswoman handily won re-election by almost 70-points. And her top lieutenants say the party would file in line to support her if she wanted her top post again.
But Democrats fell far short of their goal of winning back the 25 seats needed to take control of the House thereby giving them a trifecta.
Let me make this very simple.
If you attend religious service frequently then you probably voted for Mitt Romney.
If you don’t go to church that often then you probably voted for President Obama.
That’s not my analysis. That is according to the respected Pew Research Center. Read a partial excerpt below:
One person to keep your eye on in evangelical world is the Rev. Sammy Rodriguez. He is president?of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference?and has been talking for years about how the Republican Party MUST reach out to the Latino community on issues like immigration and pro-family friendly policies.
He has always been influential within evangelical circles but with the confirmation of the changing electorate in this 2012 election his stock just rose immensely. Here are his comments about what happened Tuesday night.
Attacks against Christians in countries like Nigeria, Pakistan and Egypt are increasing, yet the worst place to be a Christian is in North Korea's Hermit Kingdom.
Conservative evangelicals did their part in this election and Mitt Romney came close on Election Day because he had huge support from them. The issue is that the electorate is changing and the GOP is going to have to not just reach out to generic “evangelicals.” They are going to have to specifically micro-target Hispanic evangelicals and younger evangelicals.
Tuesday's election is a pivotal turning point for the United States but it will also have a profound impact on Israel and the Middle East.
Here are some vital but as yet unanswered questions:
Last week, I posed five national security questions for the next American president. We now know that President Obama will remain Commander-in-Chief. Here are just some of my immediate thoughts on the implications of the voting public's decision--for America's security, the Middle East and beyond.
If you a conservative Republican, I will sum up my analysis in one word:
DISASTER
And yes, I put the word in caps for emphasis. Maybe I should have used two words:
COLOSSAL DISASTER.
Romney loses. The GOP loses seats in the Senate. Republicans barely hang on to the House. Congressman Allen West loses. Michele Bachmann is losing (as I write this). Mia Love (the supposed GOP Rock Star) lost in Utah. The Tea Party had a rough night. (Mourdock, Akin, etc.) Shall I go on?
Quick thoughts on Romney/Obama race:
Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and it is the time of year when many of us begin to really count our blessings. My oldest daughter is slightly pessimistic when it comes to certain situations. She tends to see the glass half empty and not half full. I often explain to her the importance of being thankful for even the small things and to not worry about not getting what she wants constantly.
