Former sports broadcaster Craig James has joined the Family Research Council.
James says he will use the platform to fight the "religious bigotry" that he believes led to his termination from FOX Sports.
James was let go after expressing opposition to gay marriage during a debate in his run for the U.S. Senate in Texas two years ago.
FOX called him a "polarizing figure."
At FRC, James will serve as an assistant to FRC President Tony Perkins.
