These days, followers of Jesus Christ face more opposition to their beliefs than at any other time in American history. But a new generation is standing firm in the faith, with no fear.

They are young, ordinary Christians like activist Lila Rose who, as a teenager, started becoming a major force within the pro-life movement -- shooting undercover videos at abortion clinics, exposing illegal practices, and triggering investigations.

Then there are the Kountze, Texas, cheerleaders. The high school students fought against an atheist group for the right to keep Bible verses on banners at their football games.

Finally, there are twin brothers David and Jason Benham. The siblings lost their cable reality show, "Flip It Forward," because of their Christian views on hot button issues like same-sex marriage and abortion.

They and others make up a new wave of young believers known for their boldness and strength.

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins writes about them in his new book, No Fear: Real Stories of a Courageous New Generation Standing for Truth.

"Despite the threats, despite the hatred, despite the rejection, they (the disciples) decided to obey God rather than man," Perkins writes in the book.

"In other words, they chose to be empowered by a reverent fear of God rather than to be paralyzed by a cowardly fear of what others might think, say, or do in response to their following God," he added.

"Today, I see a swelling wave of younger people choosing to do the same thing," he said.
