A pro-life club at an Indiana school is in trouble for displaying an anti-abortion, pro-adoption poster.
The poster had 30 hearts on it, with each one standing for 100 unborn babies and all 30 together representing the 3,000 American babies who die by abortion every day.
It also had the letters “b” and “r" in "abortion" scratched out and replaced by “d” and "p" to show how easy it is to change "abortion" to "adoption."
But when someone at Carmel High School complained about the poster, school officials ripped it down and threw it out.
They then attempted to get members of Carmel Teens for Life Club to sign an agreement that would keep them from using the word abortion or discussing what happened to their poster with either their parents or any outside legal group.
Lawyer Mat Staver of the Liberty Counsel says his organization is ready to defend the students and sue the school officials if they don't reverse course and apologize to the students.
"They got it approved by the school. Someone complained. School officials threw it away," Staver told CBN News. "But more than that, they told the students that they cannot use the word 'abortion' in any communication, even on their Facebook. They can't speak about this issue to their parents and they can't contact outside legal help like Liberty Counsel. If they didn't sign this agreement, they'd have to resign and the club would be immediately dismantled. This is unconscionable. How in the world they think they have the authority to do this is beyond comprehension."
