Evangelist Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., is speaking out following the recent acts of violence in Louisiana, Minnesota, and Dallas.
King spoke with CBN News' Mark Martin about the violence and the appropriate response.
King, who is the director of Civil Rights for the Unborn of Priests for Life, says it is essential to "break every chain in nonviolent prayer and action."
"When we pray and our hearts are humble and loving and not fearful, then we can hear from Heaven, and our land can be healed," King told CBN News. "That's out of 2 Chronicles 7:14. We have to repent for our wrongdoings as well."
"And then we get inspiration; we get direction that comes into our hearts and into our spirits. And then we know what to do," she continued. "We know how to love others and forgive others without being weak and fearful and tearful."
King also addressed the #BlackLivesMatter movement.
"That's a movement that will incite violence, but the thought -- black lives matter -- well, God loves everybody, God's love matters for every human being," she said.
"My uncle, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., once said, 'We must learn to appreciate and regard the human personality. Then we won't hurt people or kill people or trample over people. We must learn to live together as brothers and sisters or perish as fools,'" she continued.
"So with that outlook, in Acts 17:26, 'with one blood, God made everybody,' then we can love each other; we can communicate without the violence, without the fear," she said.
